چکیده

In this work we present a simple three-dimensional Josephson-junction array model: a cube with twelve junctions, one on each edge. The low-field magnetic response of the system is studied numerically for arbitrary directions of the applied field. In this model the magnetic energy of the circulating currents is taken into account by introducing an effective mutual inductance matrix. The lower threshold field for flux penetration is determined in a closed analytic form for field directions perpendicular to one cube side. @S0163-1829~98!05502-7#

Cubic structures of Josephson coupled superconducting spheres: three-dimensional models of granular superconductors (*)

The transport critical current in high-Tc superconducting systems is considerably limited by the microstructural characteristics of these materials [1]. Indeed, if we schematize these systems as a collection of weakly-coupled superconducting islands, we may adopt Josephson junction network models to describe their electrodynamic response. With the aid of these models one can show that the maxim...

Fiske modes in one-dimensional parallel Josephson-junction arrays.

Vortices play a central role in determining the static and dynamic properties of two-dimensional (20) superconductors. Artificially fabricated networks of superconducting islands weakly coupled by Josephson junctions are model systems to study the behavior of vortices. Studies of vortices in Josephson junction arrays generally neglect the magnetic fields induced by currents flowing in the array...

Magnetic field dependence of dynamical vortex response in two-dimensional Josephson junction arrays and superconducting films

The dynamical vortex response of a two-dimensional array of the resistively shunted Josephson junctions in a perpendicular magnetic field is inferred from simulations. It is found that, as the magnetic field is increased at a fixed temperature, the response crosses over from normal to anomalous, and that this crossover can be characterized by a single dimensionless parameter. It is described ho...

Magnetic screening in proximity effect Josephson-junction arrays

The modulation with magnetic field of the sheet inductance measured on proximity effect Josephson-junction arrays (JJAs) is progressively vanishing on lowering the temperature, leading to a low-temperature field-independent response. This behaviour is consistent with the decrease of the two-dimensional penetration length below the lattice parameter. Low-temperature data are quantitatively compa...

One-Dimensional Mott Insulator Formed by Quantum Vortices in Josephson Junction Arrays.

The quantum transport of vortices in very long and narrow arrays of small Josephson junctions has been studied experimentally. The chemical potential of the system can be changed by an external magnetic field. When the vortex density is commensurate with the one-dimensional junction lattice, the vortex mobility vanishes for a finite window of the magnetic field. The localization of the vortices...
